ChatGPT Health Integrates with Epic for Enhanced Clinical Support

Clinicians can now use ChatGPT Health to pull patient notes, lab results, medications, and specialist documentation directly into a chat interface without leaving the patient's chart. The integration is read-only, meaning ChatGPT cannot write back to the record. Additionally, a separate plugin allows clinicians to search public sources like ClinicalTrials.gov, PubMed, and DailyMed.

The convenience of this tool is evident, but it also introduces new trust boundaries. OpenAI emphasizes that the access is strictly controlled, ensuring that sensitive patient data remains secure.

Astra: A New Benchmark in Cybersecurity

OpenAI’s latest AI model, Astra, has achieved a perfect score on ExploitBench, a benchmark for evaluating cybersecurity capabilities. Astra has demonstrated the ability to autonomously find and exploit zero-day vulnerabilities in modified tests. OpenAI plans a limited release, providing the strongest cyber capabilities to selected partners while implementing additional security measures such as chain-of-thought monitoring, jailbreak detection, and containment-escape evaluations.

The offensive capability of Astra and the criteria for who gets access are key points of discussion. OpenAI is taking a cautious approach, ensuring that the technology is used responsibly and ethically.

South Korea's Ambitious Sovereign AI Program

South Korea is investing heavily in its sovereign AI program, aiming to reach 8.4GW of data-center capacity by 2029 and 18.4GW by 2035, with a total investment of $919 billion. The first phase of the program allocates capacity across major companies like SK Group, GS Group, and Naver, while a government tournament will select a national foundation-model champion.

This initiative is not just another single-campus project; it represents a comprehensive industrial policy that spans power, compute, and domestic models, positioning South Korea as a leader in AI development.

A recent report from a Texas sheriff's office revealed that a police report was generated using Axon's Draft One, a product that converts body-camera audio into official reports. This incident involved searching over 80,000 Flock cameras for a woman who self-administered an abortion. The combination of automated systems for both surveillance and reporting raises significant ethical and privacy concerns, warranting closer scrutiny.

Anthropic's Enterprise Frontier Safeguards

Anthropic has introduced Enterprise Frontier Safeguards, a solution that combines zero-data-retention model use with misuse monitoring. Activity logs are stored in a customer's cloud storage under their control, allowing Anthropic to evaluate risk without taking custody of the logs. This approach addresses a critical gap for regulated buyers, offering a middle ground between no monitoring and handing sensitive data back to the model vendor.

CrowdStrike's SafeMind: Continuous Red Teaming

CrowdStrike's SafeMind continuously runs Red Tempest, an offensive AI model trained on 15 years of incident-response data, against Blue Solano, which remediates attack paths found in a digital twin of a customer's environment. The process continues until no viable attack path remains. While the pitch is continuous red teaming at machine speed, the accuracy of the digital twin in representing the live environment remains an open question.

Uber's Lobbying Efforts for Human Drivers

Uber is lobbying alongside driver unions for rules that keep humans in the network as autonomous fleets expand. Proposals include an 85% human-driver quota in New Jersey and a hybrid-network rule in Washington, DC. Uber estimates that one autonomous vehicle can displace roughly four drivers. This alliance, while tactical, highlights the real pressure on the industry to balance technological advancement with human employment.
