ChatGPT, the popular AI chatbot developed by OpenAI, experiences a significant global outage, leaving users worldwide frustrated and raising concerns about the reliability of AI services. According to Downdetector, a website that tracks online service status, hundreds of users began reporting issues with ChatGPT after 11 am on Wednesday.
The outage affects a large number of users globally, with over 500 reports coming from India alone. By 3:30 pm, the number of reports had reduced to 42. Of the reported issues, 85% of users faced problems with ChatGPT, while 13% reported issues with the OpenAI website. Only 2% reported problems with the Writing Coach feature.
Many users took to social media platforms to express their frustration over the disruption. Some reported network errors, while others found both the website and mobile app versions of ChatGPT inaccessible. OpenAI has not yet issued a statement regarding the cause or expected resolution time for the outage.
