The summit, which kicks off today, February 16, 2026, at Bharat Mandapam, aims to harness AI for inclusive, responsible, and resilient development.
The first day of the summit features a leadership session on leveraging AI for the future of learning and work. This session examines how AI is transforming global employment and redefining the skills needed for the future. Another key session focuses on the potential of AI to revolutionize India's judicial system, improving efficiency, transparency, and accessibility.
The inaugural day also highlights the use of AI in enhancing road safety. Experts from the Ministry of Transport, IITs, and various sectors will discuss data-driven solutions to improve road safety. The session will explore predictive analytics, proactive interventions, and scalable AI applications to support safer mobility and driver training.
The India AI Impact Expo 2026, held alongside the summit, will showcase over 300 curated exhibition pavilions and live demonstrations. Over 600 high-potential startups and 13 country pavilions will demonstrate international collaboration in the AI ecosystem. The Expo will bring together global technology firms, startups, academia, research institutions, and government bodies.
Welcoming global tech leaders, PM Modi expresses pride in India's progress in science and technology. He declares the theme of the summit as 'Sarvajana Hitaya, Sarvajana Sukhaya' or welfare for all, happiness for all, reflecting a commitment to human-centric progress through AI. The Prime Minister emphasizes the potential and capability of India's youth in contributing to global development.
