Apple Unveils Enhanced Siri AI and Robust Parental Controls at WWDC26

At the annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC26), Apple unveils a suite of new features, including an enhanced Siri AI and robust parental controls. The company also introduces significant updates to its software platforms, promising more responsive, reliable, and delightful experiences for users.

New Generation of Apple Intelligence and Siri AI

Apple is rolling out the next generation of Apple Intelligence, which includes an entirely new Siri experience. This update will be available in iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, and visionOS 27, starting this fall. The new Siri AI will be available for developer testing across these platforms, with a public beta expected later this year.

Enhanced Parental Controls and Screen Time Updates

The company is also introducing new parental controls and significant updates to Screen Time. These features aim to provide parents with more tools to manage their children's device usage and ensure a safer online experience.

Software Improvements Across Platforms

Apple is enhancing its software platforms with several new features. iCloud Shared Albums now support cross-platform photo sharing with full-resolution support. The Health app adds support for perimenopause and menopause in Cycle Tracking, including notifications about cycle deviations.

On Apple Watch, a new dynamic app grid features the icons for five Siri-suggested apps. Users can open a widget in the Smart Stack with a new tap gesture, and a new Find My app consolidates Find Devices, Find Items, and Find People. AirPods users can enjoy custom EQ settings, and expanded Apple GymKit functionality allows heart rate data syncing through iPhone while maintaining high audio quality.

Apple Vision Pro and Maps Enhancements

Apple Vision Pro users can now turn panoramas into spatial scenes and use them as personal Environments. Wi-Fi connectivity on the device is up to three times faster. Apple Maps brings an enhanced Flyover experience, combining aerial imagery with AI for more detailed visuals.

Availability and Language Support

The new features are available for testing starting today through the Apple Developer Program. A public beta will be available next month through the Apple Beta Software Program. New software features will be available as a free software update this fall.

Apple Intelligence supports multiple languages, including English, Danish, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish, Vietnamese, Chinese (simplified and traditional), Japanese, and Korean. Some features may not be available in all regions or languages.

Siri AI will be available as a beta later this year for users with supported devices set to English. Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro users in the EU will be able to access Siri AI when set to a supported language. However, Siri AI will not be available initially in the EU in iOS and iPadOS. Additionally, Siri AI and other new Apple Intelligence features will not be available in China while Apple works through regulatory requirements.
